Catnip Cake Recipe (Cats Only!)

Ingredients:

• 1 cup oat flour (or regular flour)
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 1/4 cup catnip (fresh or dried)
• 1/4 cup plain yogurt
• 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
• 1 egg
• 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for sweetness)
• 1/4 cup water (adjust as needed for consistency)

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a small cake pan or line it with parchment paper.

2. In a mixing bowl, combine the oat flour and baking powder. If using dried catnip, add it to the flour mixture.

3. In another bowl, whisk together the yogurt, applesauce, egg, and honey (if using). If you're using fresh catnip, finely chop it and add it to this wet mixture.

4. Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until well combined. Add water as needed to achieve a thick batter consistency.

5. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly.

6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

7. Once baked, remove the cake from the oven and allow it to cool completely.

8. Once cooled, you can optionally decorate the cake with a small amount of yogurt or cat-safe frosting. Sprinkle a little extra catnip on top for decoration and added flavor.

9. Serve the cake to your feline friend in small portions as an occasional treat. Make sure to store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
