A Little Christmas Dream Come True: My First Ever Toddler Board Book Is Here!

Well, this is a pretty big moment for me, and I have to admit, it feels a little surreal to finally be able to say this. As of today, my very first toddler board book has officially been released!

Meet My Very Merry Christmas: A Cozy Interactive Christmas Board Book for Toddlers, a little bundle of Christmas magic created especially for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers. I have officially stepped into the world of children's books, and I couldn't be more excited to share this little piece of my creative journey with you.

Now, if you've followed my work for a while, you probably know that I have a soft spot for all things cozy, whimsical, and a little magical. Christmas has always felt like the perfect setting for that kind of wonder, so naturally, my first little book had to be something festive. I wanted to create something that felt warm and comforting, the kind of book a parent could pull out on a chilly December evening, snuggle up with their little one, and read together while the Christmas lights twinkle in the background.

And that is exactly what I had in mind when creating My Very Merry Christmas.

Inside, you'll find an adorable baby reindeer wearing a pink snowflake scarf and her cuddly kitten companion exploring a cozy Christmas world filled with snowy log cabins, glowing Christmas trees, presents, jingle bells, and plenty of holiday cuddles. The illustrations have that soft watercolor feel that I absolutely adore, with warm Christmas colors and all those little details that make you want to linger on every page.

But this isn't just a book for little ones to sit and listen to. I wanted to make storytime something they could participate in, too. Each spread invites children to do something simple, whether that means clapping, dancing, hugging, snuggling, or whispering goodnight. It's a sweet little way to bring the story to life and make reading together feel like playtime.

And of course, because I'm a sucker for a cozy ending, the book finishes with a gentle goodnight routine beneath the moon and stars. I can just imagine a parent reading those final pages on Christmas Eve, with a sleepy little one tucked under a blanket, ready to drift off dreaming of reindeer and Christmas magic. Honestly, that thought alone makes me smile.

The book is designed for little hands, with thick, sturdy board pages, rounded corners, and a soft matte finish. It's a lovely little keepsake for a baby's first Christmas, a stocking stuffer, a Christmas Eve box, or simply a new holiday tradition to bring out year after year.

And that brings me to another little announcement!

As I start exploring children's books, I've decided that I want to keep this part of my work separate from my books for teens and adults. I love writing for different audiences, but I also think it's important for parents and readers to know exactly what they're picking up. So, going forward, my children's books will be published under the pen name Cordy Cross.

You'll still find my love of imagination and storytelling woven into what I create, but Cordy Cross will be the name to look for when you're shopping for books made especially for little readers. My teen and adult content will remain separate, which will hopefully make things a little easier for everyone.

I'm really excited about this new chapter. Creating for children is such a different kind of storytelling, and there's something incredibly sweet about the idea of a little book becoming part of a family's holiday memories. Maybe it will be the book a toddler asks for every night in December. Maybe it'll be tucked into a baby's first Christmas gift basket. Maybe it'll become one of those books that gets pulled out every year, with familiar little pages and illustrations that bring back memories as the children grow.

That's the sort of thing I'd love for this book to become.
