Simple Biscuits Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 2/3 cup water
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 450°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Add the oil and water. Stir just until a soft dough forms. Do not overmix.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently knead 4–5 times.
- Pat the dough to about ¾-inch thick.
- Cut with a 2½-inch biscuit cutter or the rim of a glass.
- Place biscuits on the prepared baking sheet with the edges touching for softer sides or spaced apart for crispier edges.
- Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the tops are lightly golden.
- Serve warm with butter, jam, or honey.
Makes: 8–10 biscuits.
