Fried Cheese Curds Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 lb white cheddar cheese curds
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/2 cups seasoned breadcrumbs or panko
- Oil for frying
Instructions:
- Pat cheese curds dry with paper towels.
- In one bowl, whisk together flour, garlic powder, paprika, and salt.
- In a second bowl, whisk eggs and milk.
- Place breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
- Dip each cheese curd into the flour mixture, then egg mixture, then breadcrumbs, coating completely.
- For extra crispy curds, repeat the egg and breadcrumb step a second time.
- Freeze breaded curds for 20–30 minutes to help prevent leaking while frying.
- Heat oil to 350°F in a deep skillet or fryer.
- Fry cheese curds in small batches for 1–2 minutes until golden brown.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Serve hot with ranch or marinara sauce.
