Our New Site

Hey All You Out There in Cyberspace!

                It’s Cordelia, and I am so happy to announce that we have an all-new home for our site. Those of you who have been here from the beginning know just how crazy this journey has been. The original site was started as a way to escape from everything and just cope with what was going on in my life and with all the new things around me. I never once thought for a moment that this place would become the amazing community that it has.

                We started off on Blogger in December of 2007 as this super cheesy online page with tons of flash widgets and music that would remind everyone a little too much of our old MySpace days. In 2008 I finally worked up to writing my first post despite feeling so silly. I thought I must be crazy to want to put my thoughts out there because I was so worried that I would let the people around me down if they knew what I was feeling or thinking. I must’ve handwritten a million versions of how that first post was supposed to go and destroyed them before anyone could see them.

                Back then, we weren’t CordeliaCross.com, we were Vampyreshadows.com . Even now, I still think back and wonder what I possibly could have been thinking with that name. But, I’m not ashamed of it, it was part of the journey. Then we moved to Wetpaint instead of Blogger because it seemed like it had a real potential to be more than just random posts about things. Shortly after that, I realized just how much I really missed Blogger and all it had to offer. Then, in April of 2008, we made the leap back to Blogger and became CordeliaCross.Blogspot.com. That site became our home until March of 2020. As of December of 2018, we finally got our own domain CordeliaCross.com

In this 12 year long journey, we have been through so much. We have had sections and segments come and go (does anyone remember Cordy and Sky’s Cookbook or our old super cringey YouTube videos?). But through it all, I felt like I only grew stronger, and it was with the help of all of you motivating me to see this through. I can’t thank you enough for that, I don’t know if I could have done any of this without you.

I would also like to give a special thank you to Cozpatch for building this all-new site for our community’s new home. This site is so much more than I could have hoped for and I can’t wait to start sharing new posts with everyone. I would also like to thank SBenny for letting us host it on his server. Without both of you, I would still be fighting with old posts and grumbling under my breath instead of taking some free time to create new content. <3

Over the next few weeks, you will see our older posts start to come over from our former site, but you will also see new content as well. For the first time, you will actually be able to create unique accounts for our site with your own usernames and interact with posts and articles. New things are added every day, so please don’t forget to check-in!
