Thumbprint Cookie Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • ⅔ cup granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg yolk

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • ¼ tsp salt

  • ½ cup fruit jam (raspberry, strawberry, apricot, etc.)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

  2. Cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Mix in egg yolk and vanilla.

  4. Add flour and salt, stirring until a soft dough forms.

  5. Roll dough into 1-inch balls and place on prepared baking sheets.

  6. Press the center of each ball with your thumb to create a small well.

  7. Fill each indentation with a small spoonful of jam.

  8. Bake 12–14 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.

  9. Cool completely before serving.
