Roll-Out Sugar Cookie Recipe
Ingredients:

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

2 tsp vanilla extract

2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp salt
Instructions:

In a bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Mix in the egg and vanilla extract.

In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

Add dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.

Divide dough in half, flatten into disks, and chill for 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 350°F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

Roll dough on a lightly floured surface to ¼-inch thickness.

Cut out shapes with cookie cutters and transfer to baking sheets.

Bake 8–10 minutes or until edges are lightly golden.

Cool completely before decorating.
