Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • Pineapple rings (fresh or canned)
  • Maraschino cherries (optional)
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Melt butter in a round baking pan and sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the bottom. Arrange pineapple rings and cherries on top.
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add butter, milk, vanilla, and egg. Beat until smooth.
  3. Pour batter over the pineapple. Bake for 35-40 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  4. Cool slightly, invert onto a plate, and serve.
