Pineapple Upside-Down Cake Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- Pineapple rings (fresh or canned)
- Maraschino cherries (optional)
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Melt butter in a round baking pan and sprinkle brown sugar evenly over the bottom. Arrange pineapple rings and cherries on top.
- In a bowl, mix flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Add butter, milk, vanilla, and egg. Beat until smooth.
- Pour batter over the pineapple. Bake for 35-40 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Cool slightly, invert onto a plate, and serve.
