Swedish Meatballs Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/2 pound ground pork
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions:

  1. Mix beef, pork, breadcrumbs, onion, egg, milk, allspice, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Shape into small meatballs.
  2. Brown meatballs in a skillet; set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and stir in flour. Gradually add beef broth, whisking until smooth.
  4. Stir in cream, return meatballs, and simmer for 10 minutes.
  5. Serve with mashed potatoes or lingonberry sauce.
