Stuffed Banana Peppers

Stuffed Banana Peppers Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 8-10 banana peppers, tops cut off and seeds removed

  • 1 pound Italian sausage (mild or hot, as preferred)

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened

  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • 1 cup marinara sauce (optional, for serving)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a baking dish.

  2. In a mixing bowl, combine Italian sausage, cream cheese, mozzarella, Parmesan, garlic, oregano, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.

  3. Carefully stuff each banana pepper with the sausage mixture, pressing filling down so it's packed.

  4. Place stuffed peppers in the prepared baking dish.

  5. Bake uncovered for 25-30 minutes, or until peppers are tender and filling is cooked through and golden.

  6. Optional: Warm marinara sauce and spoon over the peppers before serving.

  7. Serve hot, garnished with additional Parmesan or herbs if desired.
