Black Sesame Mochi Brownies Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup black sesame paste
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup mochiko (sweet rice flour)
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8-inch baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

  2. Melt Butter: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the unsalted butter. Let it cool slightly.

  3. Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar until well combined. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract and black sesame paste until smooth.

  4. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, mochiko, baking powder, salt, and cocoa powder.

  5. Combine Wet and Dry: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. If using, fold in the chocolate chips.

  6. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.

  7. Cool and Serve: Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares. Enjoy the unique nuttiness and chewy texture!
