Steak Lettuce Wraps with Peanut Sauce
Ingredients:

1 lb flank steak or sirloin steak

Salt and black pepper to taste

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 head butter lettuce or romaine, leaves separated

1 cup shredded carrots
-
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced

1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

1/4 cup chopped peanuts (optional for garnish)
For the Peanut Sauce:

1/3 cup creamy peanut butter

2 tablespoons soy sauce

1 tablespoon rice vinegar

1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup

1 teaspoon sesame oil
-
1 clove garlic, minced
-
1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

2-3 tablespoons warm water (to thin as needed)
Instructions:

Prepare the Steak:
Season steak with salt and pepper on both sides.
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Sear steak 3-4 minutes per side for medium-rare, or longer to your preference. Let rest 5 minutes, then thinly slice against the grain. -
Make the Peanut Sauce:
In a bowl, whisk together peanut butter, soy sauce, rice vinegar, honey, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger. Add warm water gradually until desired consistency is reached. -
Assemble the Wraps:
Place slices of steak onto lettuce leaves. Top with shredded carrots, bell peppers, cilantro, and a drizzle of peanut sauce. Garnish with chopped peanuts if desired.
Serve immediately for a light, flavorful meal.
