Late Night Youtube and Netflix Binging

Late Night Youtube and Netflix Binging

Hey all you out there in Cyberspace!!!

So, what are you guys up to tonight? Well, I am beginning to execute my normal, can't sleep nightly ritual. I am laying in my bed (after doing so for two hours, staring at my ceiling) doing nothing but think, think, thinking away Winnie the Pooh style while trying to fall asleep. But alas, my efforts were fruitless so I find myself blogging from my phone.
So, for nights like this when trying as hard as possible to fall asleep becomes unsuccessful, I have a sort of schedule. First, I will play Castleville Legends for about fifteen minutes on my phone. Then, if I still cannot sleep I will turn to my two best friends... Netflix and Youtube.
You see, I am one of those people who will find a show I like on Netflix, then watch a whole season in a day or two, having it constantly play in the background as I clean, cook, do laundry, basically anything but study (I have a huge playlist on YouTube set aside for that). I will pretty much watch anything as long as it is funny or intellectually amusing and/or ... that being said, I still have not gotten past season 3 episode 1 of the Walking Dead...
The following list is of Television Shows on Netflix I have either watched fully or shows that I am currently working on followed by a sort letter rating that will take you back to your school days.

  1. Bones -> A+ -> David Boreanaz... This one name should be enough, he is just as attractive and brute-y as ever. His tortured look and wounded puppy eyes are just as captivating as ever... If that is not enough to catch your attention, (and it really should be) the show is extremely interesting, introducing a new case each and every week for Booth (portrayed by David Boreanaz), Brennan (played by Emily Deschanel), and the rest of the "squint squad" to solve. This is a show that focuses greatly on the science side of crime-solving with fun character plots on the side to mix things up.
  2. Angel -> A-> Speaking of Angel,  This Buffy the Vampire Slayer spin-off is a great show where Angel (portrayed by David Boreanaz) finally gets his chance to be in the limelight, and away from the scrutiny of all those vampire haters who loved Buffy. With appearances from Cordelia Chase (Charisma Carpenter), Spike (James Marsters), and even Buffy herself ( Sarah Michelle Gellar), this show gave fans the choice whether to side with Angel or Buffy, buy showing them the backstories of both.
  3. Warehouse 13 -> A -> This amazing show follows a team of Secret Service agents tasked to a Warehouse of Supernatural artifacts. It is their duty to go out into the world and identify and retrieve these artifacts to stop them from affecting and harming the citizens of towns across the globe.
  4. Doctor Who-> A+-> The Doctor is back, with tons of new places to go, and more stories to be told. This show originating in 1963 has been added onto with new re-generations of the Doctor and more shenanigans to follow throughout time and space.
  5. Arrow-> B+ -> When you were a child, do you remember reading comic books, or reading cartoons about the Green Arrow? This show delves into his back story and his lifetime of repentance as he evolves from Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) into the Green Arrow.
  6. Beauty and the Beast -> B+ -> This show follows a Homicide Detective by the name of Catherine (Kristin Kreuk of Smallville) who finds a veteran soldier who was genetically mutated by an experiment conducted on him. The effects of this experiment left him with scars, and the ability to become a beast when angered past a certain point. Catherine and Vincent (the beast) work together to bring down the crooked organization which mutated him in the first place.
  7. Tru Calling-> B+ -> In Tru Calling, Tru (Eliza Dushku) works as a mortuary assistant to pay off the tuition for her medical degree. One day she wakes up with the ability to live the same day over again to stop a victim from ending up dead. With the ability to relive each day only once, she must find the Victim and stop them from being killed in time to please the "higher power."
  8. Star Trek-> A+-> Captain James T. Kirk (William Shatner) is one of the most well-known characters in Sci-Fi history. As the captain of the SS Enterprise he aims to "boldly go where no man has gone before" with the help of his first mate Spock (Leonard Nimoy), Dr. "Bones" McCoy (DeForest Kelley), Uhura an engineering officer (Nichelle Nichols), Scotty the Cheif Engineer (James Doohan), Sulu and Chekov the pilots and navigators (George Takei and Walter Koenig), and the notorious dispensable "Red Shirts".
  9. Futurama -> A+-> Futurama is about a Pizza guy named Fry (Billy West) who gets frozen in the year 1999 and wakes up in the year 2999. He quickly becomes friends with a Robot named Bender ( John Di Maggio) and a down on her luck Cyclops named Leela (Katey Segal). With the three friends greatly in need of work, they turn to Professor Hubert J. Farnsworth (Billy West), Fry's great-great-great-great-great-great- grandson for work with his delivery company.
  10. The Cleveland Show-> C -> This Family Guy spin off was such a disappointment. Cleveland Brown leaves Spooner Street and moves back to his home town and marries "the one that got away". Personally, I feel as though this show tries far too hard to be like Family Guy. The whole point of a spin-off was for the characters to branch off and do their own thing, and this show did not accomplish that. Although it can be funny at times, it just does not live up to the Family Guy name. Cleveland was much funnier in Family Guy.
  11. New Girl-> A+ -> Jess, a down on her luck school teacher comes home early to find her boyfriend with another woman. While in desperate need for a new home, she answers a craigslist add for a roommate only to find herself moving in with three awkward guys. Their antics and adventures as roommates make this show a total chick-flick and totally worth watching on a bad day.
  12. American Dad-> B+ -> CIA agent Stan Smith and his family embark on adventures and create fun relatable stories for everyone to watch. From his hippie pot-smoking daughter Haley and her hippie boyfriend Jeff to Stan's son Steve who is a total geek and a pacifist. As if this is not hilarious enough, they have a talking fish and an alien.
  13. Family Guy -> A-> Peter, Stewie, Lois, Chris, Brian, and Meg are the Griffins. This show is one of the longest-running adult cartoon shows, and one of the funniest. Peter an alcoholic idiot whose antics keep everyone amused. Stewie his son has a football-shaped head and spends the entirety of the show trying to become the world's next super-villain. Brian, the dog is both Stewie, and Peter's best friend and it seems he is the only one who can understand anything Stewie says inside the family. Chris and Meg, Lois and Peter's other children are just as interesting (even though Meg is constantly picked on).
  14. Torchwood -> A -> This Doctor who spinoff features the Torchwood institute and the lovable sexy Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman). To be honest, he was the reason I started to watch the show, and then I fell in love.
  15. Once Upon A Time -> A+ -> This show talks about how Regina, the Dark Queen plotted her revenge on all the fairy tale characters and makes them pay for every misdeed and sad moment in her life. This show intertwines all fairy tales connecting them for a story that just gets better and better.
  16. Dexter-> B+ -> Dexter is a crime thriller show from the point of view of the sociopathic killer, who also happens to work for the local PD as a blood splatter analyst. He makes it his mission to only kill "bad guys". This show is a definite must-see, but occasionally it seems like they spend more time on the graphics than the actual story line.
  17. Vampire Diaries -> B -> This show based on the series by L.J. Smith follows Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) an orphaned girl as her life becomes entwined with two sexy vampire brothers Damen ( Ian Somerhalder) and Stephan Salvatore (Paul Westley). As the brothers both become infatuated with Elena, the plot thickens. This show was amazing right up until Season 3, then I began to lose interest and it is slowly recaptivating me.
  18. Heroes-> A -> This show follows a number of genetically mutated people who begin to exhibit powers and how each and everyone of their lives are linked to eventually save the world. I just have to say one thing... Mmmm Zachary Quinto...
  19. Firefly -> A -> This show takes place 500 years in the future following a crew of people attempting to survive as they embark on adventures throughout the universe on a spaceship.
  20. Burn Notice -> A+ -> This show follows Michael Westin (Jeffrey Donovan), a burned CIA spy as he attempts to clear his name with the help of Fiona Glennanne (his girlfriend), and Sam Axe (his best friend).
  21. Off the Map-> A ->  Way out in the middle of the jungle,  a group of doctors set up a hospital to bring medical care to those who can't afford it or access it.This show follows their adventures and their lives as they work to cure people of illness one patient at a time with what little medicine they have.
  22. Lost -> B -> A plane crashes on an island and the survivors are left to build a civilization to last until they get rescued. This show was a must-watch although it may get a little slow at times.
  23. Drop Dead Diva -> B+ -> A heavier set woman and a model both die on the same day. Jane, the heavier set woman does not come back, but Deb (the size four model) does... in Jane's body.
  24. Flashpoint -> B -> This show follows a SWAT team through all of their cases. Showing the true dynamic of many teams like it. This is a great show that will frustrate you enormously.
  25. The Guild-> A+ -> This show began on YouTube and eventually made it's way to Netflix through popular demand. It follows a guild of MMO players who turn out to live in the same town. It shows how eventually they meet and develop real friendships with each other, off-line.
  26. Supernatural -> A+ -> This show follows two demon hunters (and brothers) Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) Winchester. They go around killing any supernatural creature that threatens the life of humans to protect them. They exercise demons, kill vampires, slay werewolves, and even creatures from ancient mythology such as Jinns and sirens all in the name of protecting the world.
  27. Charmed-> A+ -> This show follows the Charmed ones (a group of three powerful witches) and their quest to remove evil from the world. As the Charmed ones, they each have a power; Piper (Holly Marie Combs) can freeze time, Prue (Shannon Doherty) has the power of telekinesis, and Pheobe (Alissa Milano) has the power of premonition. Together, they use their powers to banish evil and to protect innocents.
  28. The Secret Circle-> B ->The Secret Circle is about a group of kids who realize they are witches by blood right and work together to protect their town from any evil that may attempt to come to power. This show can get a little bit cheesy, but it IS really good.
  29. White Collar -> A -> White Collar follows a convicted forger and conartist by the name of Neil Caffrey (Matt Bomer). He manages to get himself released from prison with an ankle bracelet to become a consultant for the FBI for the remainder of his sentence.
  30. Red Dwarf -> B+ -> This show takes place 3 Million years into the future as the final human alive is stranded upon the ship, the Red Dwarf with his friends.
