Chocolate Cut-Out Cookies Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 large egg

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • ¼ cup milk

Instructions:

  1. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.

  2. In another bowl, cream butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

  3. Mix in the egg and vanilla extract.

  4. Gradually add dry ingredients alternately with milk, mixing until a smooth dough forms.

  5. Divide dough in half, wrap in plastic, and chill at least 1 hour.

  6. Preheat oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper.

  7. Roll out dough on a lightly floured surface to ¼-inch thickness.

  8. Cut into desired shapes using cookie cutters.

  9. Place cookies on prepared baking sheets and bake 8–10 minutes.

  10. Cool completely on a wire rack before decorating or serving.
