Maple Pecan Cookie Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

Optional Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2-3 tablespoons pure maple syrup

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven and Prepare Baking Sheets:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
  2. Cream Butter and Sugar:

    • In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add Wet Ingredients:

    • Beat in the maple syrup, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients:

    • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Mix Wet and Dry Ingredients:

    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a smooth dough forms.
  6. Fold in Pecans:

    • Gently fold in the chopped pecans until evenly distributed throughout the cookie dough.
  7. Shape Cookies:

    • Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake:

    • Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the cookies are set.
  9. Cool:

    • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
  10. Optional Glaze:

    • If desired, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar and maple syrup until smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled cookies.
