Apple Cinnamon Streusel Scones Recipe
 
                        For the Scones:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- 1/2 cup diced apple (peeled and cored)
- 2/3 cup milk (plus extra for brushing)
For the Streusel Topping:
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, cold
For the Icing:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1-2 tablespoons milk or cream
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions:
- 
	Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it. 
- 
	In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and ground cinnamon. 
- 
	Using a pastry cutter or your fingertips, cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. 
- 
	Stir in the diced apple until evenly distributed. 
- 
	Gradually pour in the milk, stirring until the dough comes together. Be careful not to overmix. 
- 
	Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Pat it into a circle about 1 inch thick. 
- 
	To make the streusel topping, in a small bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, and cinnamon. Cut in the cold butter until crumbly. 
- 
	Sprinkle the streusel mixture over the top of the dough, pressing it lightly to adhere. 
- 
	Cut the dough into 8 wedges and transfer them to the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each scone. 
- 
	Brush the tops of the scones with a little milk. 
- 
	Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. 
- 
	While the scones are cooling, prepare the icing. In a small bowl, whisk together the powdered sugar, milk (or cream), and vanilla extract until smooth. Adjust the consistency by adding more milk if needed. 
- 
	Once the scones have cooled slightly, drizzle the icing over the top using a spoon or a piping bag. 
- 
	Allow the icing to set for a few minutes before serving. 
-
