Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar packed
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 large egg
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (or M&M's)
Directions:
- Turn on the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Put the butter in the microwave for around 40 seconds. The butter should be completely melted but not too hot.
- In a big bowl, mix the melted butter with the sugars until it's all well combined.
- Stir in the vanilla and egg until they're mixed in.
- Add the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Mix the dough until it's well combined. The dough should be soft and a little sticky but not too sticky.
- Add in the chocolate chips.
- Take out 1.5 tablespoons of dough (use a spoon or a medium cookie scoop) and put them 2 inches apart on a baking sheet.
- Bake for 7-10 minutes, or until the cookies are set. They'll be puffy and might still look a bit undercooked in the middle.
- Leave them on the baking sheet for about three minutes before moving them to a cooling rack.
