Chocolate Chip Cookies

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

1/2 cup butter

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/4 cup brown sugar packed

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 large egg

1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon kosher salt

1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (or M&M's)

Directions:

  1. Turn on the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Put the butter in the microwave for around 40 seconds. The butter should be completely melted but not too hot.
  3. In a big bowl, mix the melted butter with the sugars until it's all well combined.
  4. Stir in the vanilla and egg until they're mixed in.
  5. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Mix the dough until it's well combined. The dough should be soft and a little sticky but not too sticky.
  7. Add in the chocolate chips.
  8. Take out 1.5 tablespoons of dough (use a spoon or a medium cookie scoop) and put them 2 inches apart on a baking sheet.
  9. Bake for 7-10 minutes, or until the cookies are set. They'll be puffy and might still look a bit undercooked in the middle.
  10. Leave them on the baking sheet for about three minutes before moving them to a cooling rack.
